A morning of visits across Colchester with James Cracknell starting with a visit to FACES Hair and Beauty. It's always a pleasure meeting with Alison to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the hair and beauty industry which I will relay to ministerial colleagues.
It was a pleasure to attend an event on unlocking the potential of pharmacies. Community pharmacy has an important role to play as part of the prevention agenda and long-term condition management.
Last year I attended and spoke at the launch of The Care Tech Challenge Fund, a collaborative initiative with the University of Essex, the Eastern Academic Health Science Network, Breaking Barriers Innovations, and Care Providers across Essex.
It was great to pop by and see the new purpose built SOS bus. The bus run by Open Road provides vital support to the community on Friday and Saturday nights on Colchester High Street.

I was pleased to be able to make a small contribution in the incredibly important Westminster Hall Debate yesterday, secured by Sir Stephen Timms MP on the Future of the Household Support Fund.
My question to the Secretary of State for Education, The Rt Hon Gillian Keegan MP, on what steps are being taken to ensure that Initial Teacher Training gives teachers the skills and knowledge that they need to be able to support children with special educational needs and disabilities.
My question to DHSC Minister of State (Minister for Social Care) Helen Whately MP, on what steps are being taken to roll out electronic bed management systems in hospitals across the country, in order to improve patient flow and reduce delayed discharge.
Thank you to Nick Hulme and Nick Sammons at ESNEFT for showing me the progress being made on the new £64m Elective Orthopaedic Centre at Colchester Hospital.
