Colchester has grown very quickly with tens of thousands of homes being built without the adequate infrastructure to support it. I recognised the importance of transport infrastructure to the economic success of our town. This is why I stood for election to the Transport Select Committee in Parliament securing a seat. My initial focus has been on the key transport links to and from Colchester including the A12, A120 and the Great Eastern Mainline.

We live in Britain’s oldest recorded town, and it’s time more tourist discovered what a ‘must visit’ destination we are.We have Roman walls, the only discovered Roman chariot circus in Britain, the oldest Norman keep, a World class Zoo and much more besides. So we have these amazing assets but we must do more to promote the town and make this a must visit destination.
