It was a real pleasure today to welcome the Minister of State for Health, Ed Argar MP, to our fantastic hospital in Colchester. We were shown around the Accident & Emergency Department and we had the opportunity to run through the record £44 million of investment through the new centre for planned orthopaedic surgery and re-built day surgery centre. We also had the opportunity to speak with a range of staff at our hospital where we discussed their feedback. Finally, we were able to take a look at our hospital's brand new entrance, which is still under construction. I was impressed to see the range of retailers now available and the beautiful ponds being constructed in front of the hospital.
It is great to see how far our hospital has come and further investment going into it. As Colchester's MP, I will continue to act as a strong voice in Westminster for our cherished hospital and will always lobby for the additional funding it deserves. I will also maintain the close working relationship I have with the hospital and its Chief Executive.
