I always love to visit schools in Colchester to speak to all the bright and talented pupils in our town about my role as Colchester's MP, the importance of democracy, and our democratic system. I have always been proud about how great our schools are in Colchester and will always act as a strong voice in promoting them as Colchester's MP.
This morning, I had a really enjoyable visit to Hamilton School's Key Stage 2 Assembly, where I spoke to pupils about Parliament, my role as Colchester's MP, and democracy. There was also plenty of opportunity for pupils to ask a range of questions, and I was extremely impressed with their knowledge about politics in the UK and our democracy. What's more, I had the opportunity to meet their brilliant School Council and have discussions with staff at the school after the assembly. I was impressed with how talented pupils were and the clear dedication and passion shared amongst all staff at the school.
