Today in the House of Commons I responded in my ministerial capacity on behalf of the Government to the Opposition Day Debate on children's mental health to mark Children's Mental Health Week. It was a good opportunity for me to highlight the senior mental health leads and mental health support teams that Department of EducationĀ is rolling out in schools across England, and all of the work we are doing to improve children's mental health across the board.
Opposition Days are days where the main subject of business in Parliament is chosen by opposition parties. A total of 20 days in each Parliamentary session are allocated to the Opposition, of which 17 days are allocated to the Leader of the official opposition, and 3 days to the Leader of the second largest opposition party who shares the time with smaller parties in the House of Commons.
