It was great to visit Hertfordshire County Council in my capacity as the Minister for Children and Families today to hear from social workers delivering their innovative Family Safeguarding Model and share ideas at the Virtual School Head Forum for Change, focused on how we can improve outcomes for children in care and share best practice across the country.
Social service and children in care are extremely important aspects of my ministerial role in the Department for Education, and one of the best ways to help me develop and improve our policies in these areas is by visiting councils across England and speaking to social workers on the ground - listening and reflecting on their feedback is essential.
