The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for providing support for a range of disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. This is, of course, a huge responsibility and one in which my DWP colleagues and I do not take lightly.
We are always on the lookout for ways of improving the support we provide to a range of people, and this entails going out and speaking to authorities and organisations which we work in partnership with.
Today it was a please to visit Colchester Borough Homes to discuss their partnership with the DWP in working to support their most vulnerable tenants. We also discussed how we can better support them through our local Jobcentre Plus in Colchester and through the DWP in general. I will take the helpful extra knowledge and feedback I gained back with me to the DWP to influence future policy ideas and I am motivated to continue to work closely with excellent authorities such as Colchester Borough Homes to ensure we collectively provide the best possible support for vulnerable groups.
